...perfumes are infused with sound and colour energy... Perfumes for your aromatic pleasures... Be sure to see what others are saying about the perfumes you like on my Kind Words page... If you would like to comment on your perfume, just email me and I will publish it to my website. It's important to note that the oakmoss, peru balsam, and citrus oils I use are steam distilled and safe in small quantities. Please also be aware that these perfumes are made with 100% pure essential oils and absolutes. Perfumers and Aromatherapists alike agree that it is not advisable to use the same oil (or any other product) day in and day out for weeks or even years on end. This is how we become sensitized to certain products. I always suggest having two or three perfumes on the go to use for different occasions and at different times throughout the year. If you decide to do that, choose ones that do not have the same ingredients as each other, for best results. Again, this is when getting samples is a real blessing. My first order of business is always 'do no harm'. New Perfume: Breath of Gaia perfume is based on the story of the Oracle at Delphi. With top notes of citrus, reminders of the scents of the sea, and the flower and herb covered hills of Greece, this perfume has a grounded base of oud, blonde tobacco, hay, labdanum, spikenard, and oakmoss. ...The journey took her through a grove of citrus trees, then down a path overgrown with herbs and flowers, and finally deep into sticky rock rose thickets heavily laden with labdanum resin, which caught on her white robes. She entered the cave and saw the questors awaiting her presence. Seated upon a tripod above a deeply etched chasm, which exuded the sugary ethylene vapors, she rested, dropping into a deep meditation as the earth exhaled. The sweet Breath of Gaia swept over her inducing a trance-like state. Then she began to answer…” Citrus/Floral:
Citrance My wish was to make a predominantly citrus perfume that wouldn’t just
fly off one’s body. I accomplished this with the help of ladies Lavender,
Chamomile, and Litsea who were heralded in by a bright hit of bergamot, lime,
and ginger and supported on a base of Cedarwood and vetiver. Great staying power.
Eau d'Esprit I wanted to use all parts of the Bitter Orange tree in a perfume formula. With a citrus opening of bergamot fcf (in place of bitter orange), which is not part of the bitter orange tree but also does not have the photo-toxicity of an expressed oil), orange, tangerine, and lime, it evolves to the next layer of orange blossom water absolute, Neroli, orange blossom absolute, and petitgrain, drying down to patchouli, labdanum, hyraceum, and amber accord to ground this truly wonderful citrus floral perfume. EnLighten This perfume features Sassy Tuberose, in all her glory. Opening with the fresh splash of bergamot and tangerine, then a soft breeze of galbanum, tuberose stands alone supporting herself on a bed of ambergris, Ambrette, German chamomile, and sweet sandalwood. Florals: Charmed starts with fresh and green violet leaf, galbanum, and rosewood, this very feminine scent has a heart of tuberose, rose, and jasmine with a creamy base of vanilla, oakmoss (steam distilled), sandalwood, and amber accord. Chez Noir If you love the smell of anise then this is the perfume for you. Rich, deep Anise, Tarragon, and Cardamom lead the way into a full floral heart of Rose, Jasmine, and Ylang, drying down to the warm, sensuous tones of ambergris, patchouli, hay, and labdanum. Not for the faint of heart. Om Biblical frankincense, myrrh, spikenard, earthy patchouli, and sweet sandalwood offer a great supporting role to the heart notes of rose, champa, and tuberose. Bergamot is the opening scent that offers up this aroma to spirit. Wonder 'Queen Jasmine' and her hand-maidens Mimosa and Pink Lotus dominate this sexy and sensual scent. With Rosewood, Linden Blossom, and Coriander leading the way, they sing and dance exquisitely together, all the way down to the earthy notes of Ambergris, Sandalwood, Oakmoss (steam distilled), and Patchouli. Floral Orientals: Afterglow gets off to a sexy, raunchy riot with the indolic behaviour of Jasmine, Hyraceum, and Orange Blossom. After some time, it settles down to a warm bouquet of Frangipani, Orris, and Rose. Top notes include Pink Pepper, Turmeric, and bright Bergamot. a la Rouge is a luxurious fragrance created on a bed of roses, davana, ylang, jasmine, lotus, and honeysuckle accord. It opens with a burst of uplifting lemongrass, then on to the full flowery heart, drying down to an earthy, woody base of Oud, Ambrette, and sandalwood. Entranced Featuring the plum-raison scent of Osmanthus who is joined by Jasmine and Neroli, this perfume opens with Cassie, bergamot, and petitgrain and softens to musky Ambrette, sandalwood, ambergris, and amber accord. A lovely musk perfume. Loverly Named by my friends who kept smelling this and calling it 'lovely', Loverly opens with a bright citrus scent followed by a full floral heart of rose, jasmine, lotus, and ylang and ending some time later with the rich balsamic labdanum, amber accord, and blonde tobacco. Inspired This sophisticated scent has a lively citrus opening with an interesting twist in the heart. Notes of Orange Blossom absolute, Orange Blossom Water absolute, Lavender, Pink Lotus, Mimosa, and Black Current Bud mingle in a fruity modern fragrance. Sandalwood, Oud, Beeswax, and Labdanum offer a deep, mellow, and honeyed supporting role to the formula. Whole Notes 'Hard to work with!', I hear. 'Not if you know how to talk to them and coax them out to play.', I say with a smile. Thick, gooky, chunky, and stuck to the lid and sides of the containers, these yummy essences of Linden Blossom, Pink Lotus, Mimosa, Black Current Bud, Oud, Ambergris, Clary Sage absolute, and Labdanum marched in with Bergamot in the lead, are an orchestra worth listening to. I love this perfume. Fresh/Modern Coastal Rains begins as a fresh shower through Fir needles, Mimosa flowers, and Galbanum. Soon, a light sprinkling of Genet, Linden Blossom, Rose, Jasmine, Lavender, and Orange Blossom give up their scent to the droplets. Earthy notes of Sandalwood, Muhuhu wood, Hyraceum, and Ambrette, finish the descent to puddle and leave the air smelling green, clean, and slightly floral with a distinctive leather note. Fruity: Passionate …a seductive blend of seeds, nuts, and fruits with heady floral Jasmine, on a thick bed of oakmoss (steam distilled), sandalwood, and cedarwood. This has been said to get the juices flowing! Orientals: Angel Whispers begins with a feathered brushing of bergamot, orange, and black pepper, which leads the way to an open powdery field of lavender and geranium, as well as fruity notes of Davana, caraway, and Osmanthus, and a delightful dash of chocolate. Euphoric was inspired by the hypnotic qualities of the botanicals used in this formula: notes of ylang, Neroli, jasmine, petitgrain, clary sage, nutmeg, and cinnamon leaf. A lovely lift from lime and tangerine create a good opening. Finally, it comes to rest on creamy vanilla, sandalwood, oud, and steam distilled oakmoss. Wise One What scents will stay with us as we age? Lovely smells of rosewood chopsticks, tangerines in the bowl, and palma rosa just out the door, along side fields of lavender, geranium, and rose, with the thick sweetness of Benzoin, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Cedarwood, and Amber accord. All good memories, n’est pas? Powdery: Powder ‘n Lace Very sweet and powdery, Powder ‘n Lace captures the old Victorian days of arts and crafts, and all things homemade. Opening with cardamom and bergamot, this perfume creates a wafting tendril of scent behind the wearer. Ambrette, oakmoss (steam distilled), and patchouli are the dry down notes.
